Professor Gary Thomas, Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Education, Research and Engagement, at RMIT's MEGA FLEX space for the CareerTrackers partnership announcement

On Thursday, 28 August 2025, The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) became the second university to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). In partnership with CareerTrackers and representing a shared commitment to creating career pathways and cultural connection for First Nations students.

The announcement was made by Professor Gary Thomas – Pro Vice-Chancellor, Indigenous Education, Research and Engagement.

(Pictured) at RMIT's MEGA FLEX space reflects a strong, future-focused vision: opening doors to meaningful internships, building leadership capacity and ensuring more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices are represented in decision-making roles across Australia.

The MOU builds on RMIT's long-standing commitment to excellence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education. By working with the community to create lasting impact.

Through this formal partnership, RMIT and CareerTrackers are setting the platform. That not only supports First Nations students to succeed today. But also ensures more Indigenous professionals step into leadership roles tomorrow.
